About Asteria Air

We grew up watching skies full of liveries. We are buying an airline to rebuild what the mergers took away, and running it on software we own.

Bought up or shut down. The survivors all fly for someone else.

A dozen carriers became four

Regionals were bought up or shut down.

Cities lost their nonstops

Grand Rapids alone lost at least ten nearby cities.

Our competitor is the car

People drive two to five hours because no flight exists.

Small carriers work. There are just too many of them, each paying for the same overhead.

One top

Finance, technology, safety, scheduling and sales sit at the holding company.

Many certificates

Each operator keeps its certificate and crews. The regulator sees the same carrier.

One system

Every operator runs on Atlas. Each new one costs less to run the day it moves over.

We studied the ones that failed.

We studied more than 30 small airlines that tried this. Most are gone. We ranked what ended each one and built the plan around not repeating it. Of the 19 regionals we studied that died, 15 were flying for a major at the time.

Ended 27 airlines

Cash and debt

Leases and aircraft only. No debt on the company.

Ended 11

No certificate

We buy an operator that already holds one and flies.

Pilots

The crews and managers come with the deal and stay.

Fuel spikes

Turboprops on short legs, and fuel bought across every operator.

Flying for a major

We sell our own seats under our own name.

Two founders who have worked in airlines and airports their whole careers.

An aviation operating partner covers tech ops, fleet and integration during the build, so we add payroll only when the work is permanent.
